Walk through Black Mud Creek June 2025

As with all subdivisions in cities across the country over the past 20 years, storm water areas are built into each to control water runoff.  They are home to fish, frogs, pelicans, sparrows, muskrats, ducks, dragonflies and yes, mosquitoes at times, but not often.  .

They have gravel and paved paths, benches and trash bins.  Some are natural creeks incorporated into the community design with great expanses of field and small woods. 

Most are connected by a path but once in a while by signage directing across a city street.

The paths that run in back of houses tend to have owners who pretty things up with flowers.  Not just single family houses, but five story apartments and condos also overlook ponds and creeks.

Edmonton Oilers Fever

In Edmonton, home of the NHL Oilers Hockey team, that made it to the Stanley Cup Finals - in Canada the ONLY cup that matters - I saw this Pepsi display.  I’m told there is one in every larger grocery store around the city.

I don’t know how long it takes to pile all these boxes, or if the store sold all the product, nor how many people like me snapped a pic and sent it home, where ever in the world home may be, but I do know Pepsi had a winning campaign.
