Niagara Falls in Winter
Share
In the middle of January, 2025, the cloud never lifted more than a hundred feet off the ground then stretched to the far universe beyond. It swirled around the tree branches, with every gust of wind. Cloud enveloped the rivers. But in Niagara it floated high in the sky letting a peak of blue to tantalise.
There are three falls. Horseshoe sits on the border of Canada and the United States. The American Falls are entirely in the United States separated from Horseshoe by Goat Island. Bridal Veil Falls, the smallest of the three falls, sits on the United States side of Niagara river separated by Luna Island from the American Falls (I have no hope of remembering such facts.. All cribbed from Wikipedia.(I used to donate $5 monthly as I appreciated the huge effort that went into managing the site. I stopped for six months while I changed computers or something that broke the chain. I started to use the site again and went back. They wanted an account created. I don’t have to voluntarily make life easy for hackers. There are enough accounts with user names and passwords to keep track of. I think one of the games at a shower for bride or baby should be the question: Guess the number of passwords the Bride or Mum is tracking.)
The American Falls are blessed with clearing cloud and large patches of blue sky.
A few minutes later the cloud has moved in with tinges of pink. Water drops over the three falls at the rate of 40 million gallons a minute
I walk up the wall nearer Horseshoe Falls (Canadian side) putting me a touch closer across the river from the American Falls. The great chunks of ice that has tumbled over the falls grabs your attention at this point.
