Sunsets on the Farm

There are five and a half acres of hay field, a hundred year old barn, and a typical Ontario red brick two story, 800 square foot farm house with an addition on it that I call The Farm.
This winter the sunsets surpassed all that went before.
Back in late 2024, after the birthday but before we needed to scurry and ready for the New Year celebrations, the sun bounced on the snow at 8:08 am.

In January at 7:30 the inky blue-black sky is being pushed away by the orange spray of light. Standing bare to the right are the 20 or so apple trees on the cusp of adulthood. Three bore fruit for the birds and a few caterpillars last summer.

In the other direction are a couple of spruce trees that stand guard over the wheat field on the other side of the fence.

The apple orchard looking like an army of stick people, are greeting a sky of clouds doing their best to absorb the light and spread the cheer. It is January, crisp air with smells of snow over the horizon.
